Patient's question:
I got married last year, and recently I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain. It's especially bad during my period, and I'm very worried it might affect fertility. I also feel extremely cold and fear the cold. How can I relieve trichomoniasis?Doctor's answer:
Trichomoniasis can be spread through sexual contact or indirect contact. Swimming pools, hot tubs, and especially bathtubs can serve as places for the spread of trichomoniasis. Metronidazole (Flagyl) 200mg, taken orally three times daily for 7 days constitutes one course of treatment; vaginal douching with 1% lactic acid, 0.5% acetic acid, or 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution, or sitz baths, once daily followed by the insertion of Metronidazole 200mg into the vagina, can also be used. Alternative medications include Tinidazole or Carbarsone.Note: Both partners should understand and participate in the treatment. During treatment, sexual activity should be avoided, underwear and towels should be boiled to sterilize, and alcohol should be avoided during medication. After the trichomoniasis test results turn negative, vaginal discharge should be rechecked after each menstrual period for three consecutive times, and the test results must be negative each time for the condition to be considered cured.
In addition to standard treatment for trichomoniasis vaginitis, patients should also pay attention to dietary aspects, such as maintaining a balanced diet and keeping a positive mood.
