Features: As a fundamental law of the state, criminal law holds a pivotal position in protecting citizens' rights and interests, as well as maintaining national stability and long-term peace. As a branch of law that studies criminal law, criminal jurisprudence is an important discipline within the legal system and a core foundational course for law majors in higher education institutions. In recent years since the implementation of China's revised Criminal Law in 1997, academia has conducted fruitful discussions on the legislative spirit of the criminal law, the meanings of its provisions, and certain imperfections. With the deepening of reform and opening-up, as well as the need to combat new types of crime, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has successively promulgated four amendments to the Criminal Law and provided legislative interpretations on related issues. The Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate have also issued relevant judicial interpretations. To systematically explain the basic theories and knowledge of criminal jurisprudence, we have incorporated the latest research findings from academia and the writing conventions of textbooks, striving for scientific rigor, systematic organization, and relative stability in content. Emphasizing the characteristics of undergraduate textbooks, we have focused on clarity, appropriate depth, comprehensive content, and original perspectives. Therefore, experts and scholars from the Law School of Shandong University, the Law School of Yantai University, and the Shandong Institute of Political Science and Law, who have long been engaged in teaching and research in criminal jurisprudence, have been organized to compile this textbook.
