Features: Xu Xi (1940-) is a member of the China Artists Association and a first-class artist. He is from Shaoxing County, Zhejiang Province, China. From 1982 to 1988, he won first, second, and third prizes in international painting competitions three times, respectively. Additionally, two of his works won first prizes in Asia. From 1993 to 1994, he received the "World Lifetime Achievement Award" and the "1993 Celebrity Award" from the International Research Committee of the American Biographical Institute, the "World Outstanding Contribution Award" from the American Biographical Institute, the "Human Art Contribution Award" from the International Research Committee of the American Biographical Institute, the "Top Outstanding Person Award in the Past Decade" from the American Biographical Institute, and a gold medal and a silver medal from the Cambridge International Biography Center for the "20th Century Achievement Award." In 1997, his sketch work "Forest" won the gold medal at the th International Pencil Drawing Competition held in Sweden. Xu's works are fresh and enduring, rich in the spirit of the times, local culture, and life. His depictions of the Jiangnan water towns are particularly admired by both Chinese and foreign. After moving to the United States, his creative themes expanded to include landscapes from around the world, showcasing his extraordinary artistic talent and strong expertise.
