How is the treatment effect of early vulvar leukoplakia good?

Patient's question:

Patient: Female, 42 years old. Recently diagnosed with vulvar leukoplakia during a check-up. How effective is treatment in the early stages of vulvar leukoplakia?

Doctor's answer:

For the treatment of leukoplakia, if it is not moderate or above atypical fibrosis, 0.5-1% testosterone propionate ointment or 0.45% hydrocortisone ointment can be applied externally. Alternatively, 5 mg prednisone acetate mixed with 20 mL of 0.25% procaine can be used as a base isolation in the affected area, once a week, with 10 treatments constituting one course. Oral intake of vitamins A, B, E, and traditional Chinese medicine herbs such as honeysuckle, clematis, Sophora flavescens, Epimedium, dictamnus, and white peony root can be administered. These herbs can be decocted for internal consumption and external washing, along with acupoint laser irradiation. Cryotherapy can be considered for moderate and severe atypical fibrosis, or for older patients who do not respond to the aforementioned treatments, surgical excision of the external genitalia may be evaluated.
