It can serve as a teaching reference for teachers and students, as well as a handy guide for general learners and users of Chinese.
2. The book includes over 2,500 common idioms. Considering practicality and real-life language use, it also includes some frequently used colloquialisms in social life, such as "yidian dai mian" (using a point to represent the whole), "zhijie liangdang" (direct and straightforward), and "zhongsheng da shi" (a life-changing event).
3. Under each entry, the pronunciation and meaning are provided first, followed by the origin of the idiom (without quoting the original text), and finally, the easily mistaken aspects in terms of characters, pronunciation, or understanding are highlighted. The meaning is explained only as the general idea of the idiom. The origin is mentioned to help readers trace the roots and better understand the meaning.
4. The book is arranged in alphabetical order by pronunciation. At the beginning of the main text, there is a Pinyin index organized by the first character of each idiom, and at the end, a stroke index is provided for easy reference and lookup.
