Features: This book is the last in the basic stage of Swahili language learning and serves as a transition to the advanced stage, functioning as a bridging. In the writing process, we considered both consolidating the fundamental knowledge and skills learned in the previous books while preparing students for the advanced stage. The following arrangements were made in the writing process:
1. A wide range of materials were selected. Most are from different Swahili-speaking countries in East Africa, carefully chosen after thorough study of their content and structure. This aims to give students an understanding of the different dialects, linguistic styles, and expressions of Swahili in various regions. Some teaching materials with proven applicability over ten or twenty years were also selected and refined through screening, editing, and distillation.
2. Diverse themes and content. The text covers general and background knowledge of Swahili-speaking countries, including politics, history, economy, culture, and religious beliefs, offering good knowledge and readability.
3. The language has a certain depth. Some texts feature rich expressive forms in word usage or sentence structure. In addition to Swahili sentence patterns and idiomatic expressions in the texts, two commonly used proverbs are added at the end of each text, which students are required to memorize and master.
4. The difficulty of the exercise section has been increased. The exercises are abundant in quantity, content, and form, further strengthening the cultivation and training of practical abilities such as reading comprehension, translation, writing, and comprehensive summarization, making it easier for students to smoothly transition to the advanced stage.
