Brief Introduction to The Time Machine: The Time Traveler invents a machine that allows him to freely travel through time, both into the past and the future. He travels over 800,000 years into space in the machine, arriving in the year 802,701 AD. What awaits him is a terrifying world beyond anyone's imagination. After an adventure, the Time Traveler escapes that era and flies millions of years into the future, where he encounters yet another astonishing scene. After enduring countless hardships, he returns to the present and shares his travel experiences with his friends. Soon after, he embarks on a second time journey. This time, he never comes back. What remains for us is an unsolvable mystery.
Brief Introduction to The Island of Dr. Moreau: The protagonist, Edward Prendick, is shipwrecked at sea and rescued by a small merchant ship. He then arrives on a desolate volcanic island. Here, Edward discovers creatures that are neither fully human nor fully animal, and hears horrifying wails. Step by step, he ventures into the forest. It turns out that this desolate island is a laboratory for biologist Dr. Moreau. On this island, Dr. Moreau performs live animal dissections, conducts limb transplants and brain modifications, creating a half-human, half-animal creature that can speak, read, and work. Dr. Moreau's series of experiments transforming animals into humans triggers a series of tragedies. Although the novel belongs to science fiction, when you think about some of today's significant scientific discoveries, such as genetic engineering and cloning technology, you may feel that some of Wells' predictions are coming true.
