Features: This book is divided into three parts. Part "Analysis and Evaluation of the Situation," mainly includes an analysis of the world economy and trade in 2004, China's foreign economic and trade situation, the international commodity market, the engineering contracting market, and an outlook on the overall trends for 2005. In 2004, the world economy continued to grow. Developed economies showed steady upward trends, while emerging markets and developing countries experienced strong growth. Trade contributed more to economic growth, and the economic and trade interactions between regions and countries were strengthened. Under these circumstances, China made historic breakthroughs, becoming the world's third-largest trading nation. The second part, "Business Policies," mainly focuses on the key and hot issues in China's business development over the past year, with an in-depth analysis of China's foreign trade surpassing 100 million U.S. dollars and proposing countermeasures for future trade development. In this section, we also provide an in-depth analysis of the current widely internal and external trade integration and propose strategies and suggestions for the future. Additionally, we analyze regional economic cooperation, the WTO Doha Development Agenda, and the "bringing in" and "going global" strategies. These analyses are highly beneficial for gaining a deeper understanding of the characteristics and key issues in current business work. The third part is the "Special Reports Section." It mainly conducts in-depth research and analysis on some key and hot issues in 2004. "China's Retail Industry Opening Up, Problems, and Suggestions" addresses the current key and hot issues, analyzes existing problems, and proposes recommendations for future development. The report on "China's High-Tech Products" provides a detailed analysis of the current status of China's high-tech product exports, their role in driving economic growth, and their contribution to trade growth, proposing future directions and work priorities. The report on "Technology Introduction" reviews China's experience in technology introduction in recent years, summarizes lessons learned, and analyzes the impact of technology introduction on adjusting China's industrial structure and enhancing the competitiveness of export products, proposing future efforts. The report on "China's Participation in Regional Economic Cooperation: Current Status and Vision" analyzes the current status and existing problems of China's participation in regional economic cooperation and proposes medium- and long-term visions for China's involvement in such cooperation. Other special reports also analyze key issues and provide valuable suggestions.
