Features: Adding and selecting is something that could not be easier, especially since the original eight-volume edition had already done a good job in selecting poems. However, because it involves adding to and selecting from the existing works, later compilers naturally face some limitations in the selection, which indeed can be somewhat frustrating. I remember that the original annotators of the aforementioned eight volumes had not agreed on a completely unified purpose, so now, it is clear that the selected poems in each volume are not entirely identical: from the standards of poem selection to the writing style of biographical notes, to the style of annotations. And this time, since it is still necessary to preserve their original form, compromises are sometimes unavoidable. To make it "more suitable for young students to read," it is hoped that "the selection should consider aspects such as the influence of works, stylistic schools, historical periods, and reading impact," which also gives the compiler some flexibility. When compiling this selection, special attention was paid to retaining the poems of female authors and authors from ethnic groups other than the Han nationality. This was naturally done to showcase more stylistic schools and achieve a better reading experience.
