Features: Three Cries in the Palace (also known as Colorful Fairy Bridge and Celestial Belt). It is one of the three main representative plays of the "Tang (Xicheng) School" of art, alongside Nanyang Pass and Beheading Son at the Gate. As early as December 1956, during the first provincial opera performance review in Henan Province, this play (compiled by Min Bin) won three first prizes in scriptwriting, directing, and performance. On this basis, the playwriting team of Henan Yiyu Opera Theater referenced the old scripts of Yu Opera to further refine it. Then, through the meticulous portrayal of the central character, Li Shimin, by Tang Xicheng, especially the repeated refinement of his main arias, the imperial figure on stage finally radiated a unique aesthetic charm. Since the 1980s, his talented disciple, the renowned Yu Opera performance artist Jia Tingju, fully leveraged his naturally deep and resonant voice and continued to strive for excellence, ultimately elevating Three Cries in the Palace to the pinnacle of modern Yu Opera's male lead repertoire, becoming one of the most frequently performed plays. Statistics show that Jia Tingju has performed the play for over 40 years, with more than 2,000 performances since the new era.
