Features: If the traditional methods for ensuring quality in higher education are characterized by "discovering and maintaining excellence," then these methods are often supplemented by other measures today. These measures specify how outstanding individuals should maintain their standards, "remain excellent," by continuously demonstrating their outstanding performance, encouraging them to improve, providing them with new reward and punishment systems, requiring regular rotation of leadership positions within higher education institutions, and achieving leadership position rotation between the higher education system, the government, and other sectors of society. This book will primarily explain higher education institutions from 14 countries that have undergone the aforementioned quality assessment processes. Our purpose is not to prescribe how educational quality assessment should be conducted, but to examine the outcomes of existing assessments and explore the different effects that assessments carried out in various ways will have. During the process of description and analysis, we strive to maintain a neutral and objective stance. This book does not intend to promote any particular method or teach readers how to do things. We are concerned with providing information and clarifying facts, thereby stimulating discussion and evaluation among people about the major changes occurring in the field of higher education, with one of the most significant changes being quality assessment. Of course, we also hope that this book will be of considerable practical value to readers and provide them with inspiration.
