English Reading Breakthrough

Features: The difficulty level of this book is between high school and university. Over the past decade, the reading and vocabulary sections of China's college entrance examination (Gaokao) English have shown that students who rely solely on high school textbooks fall short of the required level for proper exam preparation. Therefore, they need to read many extracurricular materials to bridge this gap. This anthology systematically and comprehensively addresses this need.
In recent years, the content of Gaokao English reading has also evolved, no longer being confined to literary essays or similar material but often selecting more practical and modern articles. Additionally, based on my years of teaching TOEFL reading, I've found that TOEFL reading passages predominantly cover topics such as animals, plants, science, and technology, while also including other areas like English teaching and current events. Thus, in terms of content, this collection can be said to fully encompass all possible topics for both Gaokao and TOEFL.
