Evolution of pre-modern Chinese thought

Features: This book consists of two parts: "The Evolution of Pre-Modern Chinese Thought" and "The Thought of the So-Called Donglin Faction." It focuses on figures such as Li Zhi and Dai Zhen, as well as the Donglin Faction, providing a comparative and in-depth analysis of the changes and developments in Chinese intellectual circles during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. The intention of this book is to transform from a state of necessity into one of freedom. It neither resists nor follows Europe. Having accepted the concept of "modernity," it is better to let it take root in Asia. If one wants to understand "modernity" in Asia, which is inherently different from Europe, one must look back to Asia's pre-modern period and find its origins. In other words, reconstruct "modernity" with concepts inherent to Asia. Out of a sense of frustration with "modernity," I chose Chinese thought as my research subject. My true intention is to personally recognize the inherent or original historical value of Asia, including Japan. This book is a process of exploration or experimentation.
