Features: "China Collection" primarily selects outstanding works and translations published in China since the 20th century in the fields of philosophy, social sciences, literary and artistic creation, and science and cultural popularization. These works and translations have had a significant positive impact on China's political, economic, cultural, and social development over the past century and remain highly valuable to this day. They are classic and essential works that Chinese readers must read. Great works are always the intellectual theories that shake the wisdom of each era, the classic works that enlighten the masses, and the works that touch the hearts and souls, treasured cultural gems of the times and nations. They should be recognized for their contributions at the time and their benefits for generations to come. The "China Collection" publishes these classics over the past century, offering a macro review of publishing achievements in the 20th century from the perspective of the new century and actively exploring future publishing endeavors. It aims to contribute to the construction of advanced Chinese culture and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Some titles in the "China Collection" require reformatting due to technical reasons, with adjusted layouts, while most retain their original designs. A collection of thousands of books, with varying styles ranging from solemn to playful, scholarly to popular, a uniform layout may not always be suitable. Moreover, layout design is also part of the aesthetic appeal of a book. While readers absorb knowledge and appreciate works, they can also enjoy the distinctive styles of layout designs from different publishing houses across different periods, which is a delightful experience left for readers. This book, through the organization and study of ancient Chinese music aesthetics literature, systematically discusses the historical forms, evolution, and development of ancient Chinese music aesthetics from the Western Zhou to the Ming and Qing dynasties in five volumes and forty-two chapters. It also reviews existing research in the field. This book was first published in traditional Chinese characters in Taiwan by Lanteng Cultural Enterprise Co., Ltd. in February 1993. A simplified Chinese version of the same edition was published by the People's Music Publishing House in January 1995. In September 2003, after careful revisions by the author, a revised edition was released by the People's Music Publishing House. Since its initial publication, the book has received numerous awards and honors, including the 10th China Book Award (1996), the Ministry of Education's Humanities and Social Sciences Research Achievement Award (1998), and the Beijing Fine Teaching Material Award (2000).
