What should be done for menopausal syndrome

Patient's question:

Recently, I've been feeling hot flashes and chest tightness, which is very uncomfortable. I also tend to get angry easily. If I have menopausal syndrome, what should I do?

Doctor's answer:

Menopausal syndrome is a series of symptoms caused by the rise in estrogen levels. Due to the decline in ovarian function, the pituitary gland becomes overstimulated, leading to the excretion of excessive gonadotropins. This disrupts the autonomic nervous system, resulting in a range of varying symptoms such as menstrual changes, flushing, palpitations, neurasthenia, fatigue, depression, excessive worry, emotional instability, irritability, and difficulty concentrating, collectively referred to as "menopausal syndrome." The majority of women experience a gradual decline in ovarian function, allowing the body to sufficiently adjust and compensate for this change, or only exhibit mild symptoms.
