How to treat candidal vulvovaginitis

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. If I have candidiasis vaginitis, how should I treat it?

Doctor's answer:

Vaginal candidiasis can be treated locally by washing the affected area with a baking soda solution or applying imidazole creams such as miconazole cream, clotrimazole cream, etc. Oral griseofulvin and itraconazole can also be taken. Maintain good hygiene, strictly avoid sexual activity during treatment, and pay attention to the cleanliness of the external genital area. Avoid using soap to clean the external genital area; try to control scratching and friction of the affected area; avoid spicy foods; and be mindful of preventing emotional fluctuations.
There are many treatment methods for vaginal candidiasis, but since the symptoms vary among patients, the treatment approaches differ accordingly. Therefore, it is recommended that patients seek early diagnosis and treatment once symptoms are noticed.
