Features: The overall design of this textbook is to construct a new system of vocational Chinese teaching materials with characteristics of vocational schools. The system focuses on basic expressions and common application writing as the main learning and practice sequence, emphasizes the teaching of expression thinking processes as the primary teaching content, and encourages active student participation in activities as the main learning form. The textbook includes the following three parts:
1. Basic Expression Units (9 units): Narrative Writing, Character Description, Scenery Depiction, Object Description, Explanation of Concrete Things, Explanation of Abstract Principles, Discussion of a Single Event, Elucidation of Principles, and Counterargument.
2. Application Writing Units (2 units, including 10 types of application writing and 2 types of application knowledge introduction): Tables, Receipts, Official Letters, Speech Scripts, Announcements, Notices, Plans, Summaries, Requests, Reports, Investigative Reports, Contracts, and Job Interviews.
3. Appendices (7 appendices): The Scheme of Hanyu Pinyin, Chinese Characters, Vocabulary, Punctuation Marks, Grammar (Part 1), Grammar (Part 2), and Rhetorical Knowledge.
