Features: This book is compiled based on the new postgraduate entrance exam English syllabus, covering three parts: translation, writing, and listening. The new syllabus has made no adjustments to the English-Chinese translation section, merely changing it from the original Reading Comprehension Part B to Part C. In a short passage of about 400 words, five underlined sentences (approximately 150 words) are provided, requiring candidates to translate the underlined parts into complete and fluent Chinese. The writing section has undergone significant changes, with the addition of applied writing, which asks candidates to write an applied short passage of about 100 words based on a given scenario, including letters, envelopes, notes, and memoranda. The short passage writing section requires candidates to write a short passage of 160 to 200 words based on provided topic sentences, outlines, specified scenarios, or charts. Although the new syllabus includes the listening test in the second round of the exam, listening remains the weakest area for Chinese candidates. Professor Li Qing has extensive practical experience in teaching listening and is familiar with the difficulties Chinese students face in learning English. This book presents the essence of her years of listening teaching to the candidates.
