Features: Why does school education implement the system of winter and summer vacations? Undoubtedly, it is to enrich children's lives, broaden their horizons, and enable them to gain knowledge and improve their abilities from different aspects and approaches, thereby promoting their health and fostering excellent character qualities. Holidays are another realm where children can enjoy happiness and actively pursue progress, and they should be unforgettable years in their joyful childhood. Since May 1995, China has gradually implemented a five-day workweek system, and primary and secondary school students have also begun enjoying "weekends." As a result, children now have more holidays. How to guide children to spend their long holidays well is a new challenge concerning the education of hundreds of millions of young children, which must be given sufficient attention by the state, society, schools, and hundreds of millions of families, and proactive measures must be taken. To comprehensively improve the quality of the population in China, Mr. Feng Dequan, after extensive research and experimentation, has studied and designed the "Early Education Plan" for early childhood education. Now, to achieve the same goal, he has written and edited "Holiday Guidance for Primary School Students" as an entry point for the holidays of hundreds of millions of primary school students. This is an extremely meaningful endeavor. Mr. Feng's "Holiday Guidance" was inspired by the times and arose from the need, and it is bound to flourish due to the demand. This not only reflects Mr. Feng's foresight but also embodies his love for children! The term "Holiday Guidance" refers to a plan to implement education for children and adolescents during all their holidays. This is also an educational project, an important supplement to the school education plan, and a form of integrating social education, family education, and self-education for children. This book is written for primary school parents, teachers, and the general public, serving as a work that combines knowledge and methods. The content covered is quite extensive, including pedagogy, psychology, literature, science and technology, and art, and it reflects the author's views on talent, education, and children, embodying rich ideas of quality education. I believe that after reading this book, parents and teachers can not only update some educational concepts but also learn specific knowledge and methods for guiding children to spend their holidays well, such as holiday activities, small experiments, and small crafts. Only by combining the enthusiasm of teachers and parents with the initiative of children can children remain enthusiastic, positive, and engaged in a rich and diverse life during their holidays, ensuring their healthy growth and comprehensively improving their quality. Of course, this book is only a limited attempt. More holiday activities, measures, and methods still need to be created by educational leadership departments, teaching and research departments, as well as teachers and parents at all levels. More educational "software" for children's holidays and spare time should be published and produced (such as books, teaching aids, learning tools, toys, audio-visual materials, etc.). Mr. Feng Dequan began his career in children's education in his youth, dedicating himself to the research and practice of children's education. For over 50 years, he has been a teacher, held leadership positions in primary and secondary schools, taught child psychology in higher education, served in educational administrative departments, and edited the children's education magazine "Talent Cradle." Especially since the late 1970s, he has devoted himself to the study of early education, designing the "Early Education Plan" for education starting from age zero, and has widely promoted his research findings to society for practical application, achieving remarkable results. Through long-term research and practice, he has written numerous works. The newly published "Feng Dequan Early Education Plan ③: Holidays Are More Important Than Terms" is an expansion of his child education philosophy and can also be considered a supplement to the "Early Education Plan." It is a small flower that has bloomed in the garden of child education. This book is one of the classic works of the renowned early education expert, Professor Feng Dequan. Currently, primary and secondary school students in China have more than 180 holidays a year, accounting for half of their total living days. Therefore, how to utilize children's holidays effectively is an extremely important issue related to their life growth. However, this topic has long been neglected. While Professor Feng Dequan is dedicated to the research of early education for infants and young children, he is equally concerned with the learning and growth of primary and secondary school students. This book is a special gift from Professor Feng to the parents and teachers of primary and secondary school students. It provides a detailed introduction to the focus, content, and key principles of holiday guidance for primary and secondary school students in a conversational manner. The content covers all important aspects of their growth and is highly practical. This is not just "holiday guidance" but also "comprehensive growth guidance" for primary and secondary school students.
