How is it better to treat uterine polyps?

Patient's question:

Female, 25, unmarried, has sexual activity, menstrual cramps + abnormal leukorrhea, occasionally bleeds outside of ovulation period, what's going on? Please ask, how is the best treatment for uterine polyps?

Doctor's answer:

Cervical polyps are a common gynecological condition and a fundamental clinical feature of chronic cervical inflammation. They are caused by localized fibrosis of the cervical canal mucosal tissue due to chronic inflammatory stimulation. As the uterus has an inherent immune response, the fibrotic mucosa gradually undergoes polyp-like changes from the base toward the weaker areas of the cervix, hence they are also referred to as endocervical polyps. Cervical polyps are often overlooked. Over one-third of patients lack obvious symptoms and are only discovered during a thorough examination by a doctor. Even when symptoms are present, they are usually mild, primarily characterized by minimal spotting of bright red blood or slight bleeding after sexual intercourse, which is sometimes mistaken for "menstruation-like bleeding."
