Features: This book is a representative work of Mary Shelley, a 19th-century British female novelist. Mary Shelley was the wife of the famous 19th-century British Romantic poet Shelley. During her time in Switzerland, Mary Shelley conceived the idea of creating a humanoid monster with superhuman abilities through conversations with Shelley and Byron, as well as being inspired by the popular horror novels of the time. This is the idea behind her work "Frankenstein's Story," published in 1818. The work is considered a pioneer of "science fiction." Mary Shelley also wrote the work "The Last Man," which tells the story of a world where humanity is wiped out by an epidemic, leaving only one person. "Lodovico" is her autobiographical work. The Geneva scientist Frankenstein is deeply concerned with the birth and death of life and attempts to find a way to give life to inanimate objects. After much effort, he finally succeeds in his "creating a human" experiment, but the life form born is not the human species he envisioned, but a terrifying monster. In shock, Frankenstein hastily flees. The monster, who tries to make friends with people, realizes that they reject him because of his ugly appearance. Thus, the desperate monster develops deep hatred for Frankenstein, who ignores him, and subsequently develops hostility toward humanity. As a result, a pair of magic hands reach out to Frankenstein's loved ones and friends.
