Features: The famous "Tom and Jerry" animated series was created by producer Fred Quimby, director William Hanna, and Joseph Barbera in 1939. After the highly successful short animation "Tom Gets Boots," Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer produced over 100 "Tom and Jerry" cartoons in the following 25 years. This animated series is entirely characterized by slapstick comedy, with extremely lively. In 1942, "Tom and Jerry" was included in the comic magazine "Our Gang" published by Dell/Western Publishing, along with all of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's other works. Starting with issue #40, "Tom and Jerry" became the cover feature of the magazine. In 1948, after reaching its peak popularity in issue #193 of "Our Gang," "Tom and Jerry" completely replaced "Our Gang" starting with issue #194. Initially, Jerry and the light-gray mouse Tweety lived together in the same mouse hole under a human's house, seemingly under the watch of Tom, who made every effort to drive away these troublesome lodgers. These stories of the clever mice and the foolish cat rival the partnership of Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, without the cruelty of the animal world where the strong prey on the weak. Instead, it only depicts the daily trivialities and conflicts between two neighbors, such as Jerry sneaking into Tom's cheese, Tom setting a mousetrap at Jerry's doorstep, and countless pranks and humorous scenes that evoke a sense of long-lost innocence. The relationship between the cat and the mouse often changes instantly, turning from enemies to friends or remaining rivals. When they are enemies, they scheme endlessly and refuse to yield; when they are friends, they are like brothers and hold no grudges against each other.
