Features: Since the formation of international relations as an independent discipline in the 1930s, its development has been a process of continuously enhancing its scientific rigor. Structural realism theory is the result of the scientific development of classical realism theory, while mainstream constructivism theory is the outcome of the scientific development of the Florida School. Problem-oriented research is the primary driving force behind the scientific advancement of international relations. By improving research methods, we can deepen our understanding of international political issues. Of course, we also know that while scientific methods can help solve some problems that other methods cannot, they cannot solve all problems. Therefore, this journal aims to publish research findings that provide answers to questions and deepen international political knowledge, rather than favoring articles with complex methodologies that fail to address substantive issues.
Currently, the dominant role of problem-oriented research in China's field of international relations is not yet strong, and many studies merely replicate questions raised by foreign scholars. To promote problem-oriented research in China, this journal particularly welcomes studies that select and investigate issues from a Chinese perspective. This issue features five problem-oriented research papers and one theoretical introductory article.
