Features: The concept of design is both ancient and modern. To say it is ancient is because since humans developed aesthetic awareness, design has existed. The meticulous beautification of labor tools, daily necessities, living environments, and even oneself by humans is, in essence, design. To say it is modern is because it was not until the early 20th century, when Walter Gropius founded the Bauhaus in Germany, that the term "design" was specifically coined. In China, the widespread use of the term "design" came even later, with only about two decades of history so far. The specialization of the term "design" has emerged alongside the high development of human spiritual and material civilization, as well as the growing aesthetic needs of people. Today, it is gaining increasing importance and requires greater professionalism, systematic approaches, and theoretical foundations.
To showcase the research and teaching achievements of design programs in China's higher education institutions in recent years, our press has launched this series of books. Categorized by different disciplines, the series selects outstanding design works from faculty and students at several renowned art academies. Each work is accompanied by insights from the authors, making the series rich in both visuals and content.
