Features: The college entrance examination (CET) is a crucial milestone that every middle school student must cross during their academic journey. The intense competition and its significant impact on future prospects are realities that both students and parents have witnessed. How to successfully pass this threshold and achieve ideal scores to enter a higher-level school is the aspiration of every candidate and the hope of every parent. Among all subjects in the CET, English holds a pivotal position. However, the diversification and documentation of middle school English textbooks have posed new challenges for students learning different curricula: How to effectively organize middle school English knowledge points, comprehensively enhance practical problem-solving skills and exam adaptability, and ensure ideal performance in the CET? To excel in English as a middle school student, one must adhere to the inherent principles of English learning. First, emphasis must be placed on mastering pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. Second, acquired knowledge should be transformed into language proficiency, equipping students with essential listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Only by addressing both language knowledge and language application can English proficiency be comprehensively improved, and only then can more ideal exam results be achieved. In recent years, the CET English paper has undergone significant changes in format and content, placing greater emphasis on testing students' abilities. Notably, Section 2 (Vocabulary and Grammar), tailored to the needs of students learning different curricula, has undergone substantial adjustments in question types. The paper is divided into three sections: Multiple Choice Cloze, Word Form Changes, and Sentence Transformation. Verb completion and English-English definition questions have been removed, with related knowledge points assessed in Multiple Choice Cloze and Sentence Transformation sections. Additionally, the paper no longer includes two separate versions (A and B). It strives to adhere to the principle that "knowledge-based questions should maintain a certain proportion, while ability-based questions should be fully emphasized, with the latter slightly outweighing the former." With nearly 30 years of experience in middle school English teaching and having edited multiple CET simulation test collections, the author has taught many students who achieved perfect scores in the CET. In response to the new spirit and methods of the second phase of curriculum reform regarding exam reform, and to help candidates adapt to the recent trend of CET questions emphasizing agility, depth, and creativity in thinking, this book adopts a fresh perspective. Through in-depth research on the newly issued CET requirements, it meticulously organizes fundamental middle school English knowledge, comprehensively summarizes challenging vocabulary, typical sentence structures, and idiomatic expressions, and carefully analyzes past relevant exam questions. It highlights difficulties, key points, and areas where students often confuse or misuse concepts, while providing carefully designed comprehensive ability training exercises. This book aims to offer students and candidates scientific learning and review methods to facilitate systematic preparation and effectively improve their practical ability to analyze and solve problems using acquired knowledge. It is believed that this book will be helpful in exam preparation. May all students who diligently study this book perform at their best, achieve the highest scores, and joyfully enter their ideal schools.
