Features: Planting plays a broad role in meeting human material and spiritual needs. In peacetime, ornamental plants are particularly significant in fulfilling people's spiritual needs. Today, the rapid development of the floral industry both domestically and internationally is a clear testament to this. Flowers hold such a wide and prominent significance in satisfying people's spiritual needs due to their graceful forms and vibrant colors, as they are fully integrated into nature while embodying rich cultural connotations. Here, I would like to introduce Chinese orchids in particular. Chinese orchids, this flower hailed as a national treasure and essence of Chinese flora, stand out among all others with their myriad forms, dazzling colors, countless varieties, and extraordinary diversity. Virtually every aspect of other flowers, such as plum blossoms, lotuses, narcissus, sweet osmanthus, peonies, and chrysanthemums, can be reflected in orchids. However, their unique Eastern cultural charm and profound historical significance far surpass those of ordinary flowers, even becoming symbols of elegance, purity, and beauty. Throughout history, there have been numerous examples of orchids being used to cultivate the mind, refine character, or symbolize virtuous individuals and noble figures. As a national treasure, this flower is truly worth promoting and popularizing in today's thriving Chinese society. Promoting Chinese orchids and upholding Chinese orchid culture are extremely important aspects. Professor Liu Qingyong from Guangdong Province and Mr. Wu Senyuan from Taiwan Province are well-known figures in the orchid world. Over the decades, they have dedicated significant efforts to researching Chinese orchid culture and accumulating Chinese orchid horticultural varieties. They have archived countless Chinese orchid horticultural varieties and compiled them into a series of books, which is a delightful achievement. Reading the concise text and the stunning color photographs of Chinese orchids in the book, I sincerely admire their efforts. May these culturally rich Chinese orchids, with their Eastern charm, spread throughout the nation and the world, contributing to beautifying people's living environments and enriching their spiritual lives.
