Patient's question:
Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried it might affect my fertility, and I also feel extremely cold and sensitive to the cold. Could you please tell me how to treat endometrial cancer?Doctor's answer:
1. Surgical treatment. Stage I patients should undergo extraperitoneal total hysterectomy with bilateral adnexectomy, while Stage II patients should undergo radical total hysterectomy with complete pelvic lymph node dissection.2. Comprehensive evaluation of surgery and radiotherapy. If cancer cells are found in the ascites of Stage I patients or if there is cancer infiltration in the myometrium, or if lymph nodes are involved, postoperative external irradiation should be added. For Stage II or partial Stage III patients, preoperative external or intracavitary irradiation should be added, and surgery should be performed 1–2 weeks after the completion of radiotherapy.
3. Radiotherapy is recommended for elderly or frail patients with severe medical comorbidities who cannot tolerate surgery, as well as for Stage III or higher patients who are not suitable for surgery. This includes both intracavitary and external irradiation.
