Features: The 5th edition of "Pharmacology" for medical colleges across China was compiled under the guidance of the Curriculum Office of the Ministry of Health and the Clinical Medical Specialty Textbook Review Committee, serving as a planned textbook for medical colleges nationwide. During the writing process, the authors adhered to the principles of ideological, scientific, inspirational, advanced, and applicable content. Based on the fundamental laws and systematic nature of pharmacology, and in line with the teaching needs of medical colleges, the book closely connects clinical practice, simplifies complexity, highlights key points, and facilitates both teaching and self-study for students. The 5th edition of "Pharmacology" is divided into 9 parts and 44 chapters. Building on the original 4th edition, some chapters were removed (e.g., general anesthetics, disinfectants and antiseptics), while others were split (e.g., calcium channel blockers) and reorganized. For teaching convenience, cholinesterase-reactivating drugs were appended to cholinesterase-inhibiting drugs, opioid receptor antagonists were added after the chapter on analgesics, antiguout drugs were included after the chapter on antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drugs, and β-lactamase inhibitors were placed after β-lactam antibiotics. Additionally, the book includes a 9th part on rational drug use and related content at the end, which complements the general introduction to pharmacology in the first part.
