How is endometrial hyperplasia treated effectively?

Patient's question:

I have endometrial hyperplasia with a thickness of 17mm. It has been ongoing since November last year, and my menstruation has not stopped. I have also taken medication for three months without any improvement. How can endometrial hyperplasia be effectively treated?

Doctor's answer:

After drug treatment, patients with endometrial hyperplasia may experience alleviation or normalization of endometrial inflammation, and even achieve early pregnancy. However, there is still a possibility of recurrence after stopping medication or postpartum. Among 80 cases of early pregnancy after hospital treatment, 6 cases recurred respectively two years after delivery, and hysterectomy confirmed that the condition remained endometrial hyperplasia. This recurrence may be related to the failure to fundamentally correct the factors leading to high estrogen levels in the body. In summary, the prognosis for most patients with endometrial hyperplasia is favorable after active drug treatment. For patients with moderate to severe atypical hyperplasia, close follow-up should be maintained during treatment. If a few cases show poor response to treatment, hysterectomy can be performed promptly.
