Can you get pregnant the first time?

Patient's question:

I haven't had sexual activity before, but I'm starting to now. I want to get pregnant and have a baby, but I've heard that the first pregnancy is usually difficult. Is the first pregnancy really that hard?

Doctor's answer:

Women want to get pregnant and have children, whether it's difficult the first time depends on the individual. If there are no fertility issues for both partners, choosing to have intercourse during ovulation may result in pregnancy with a single attempt. If there are fertility problems for both partners, and intercourse occurs when the ovary is not ovulating, it can be more difficult to conceive. Monitoring the ovary and having intercourse when ovulation occurs can increase the chances of pregnancy.
