How to Quickly Determine if You Are Pregnant

Patient's question:

Last month on the 8th, I had a medication-induced abortion. Now my period is 4 days late, and I don't know if I might be pregnant. If I got pregnant that month, it would be okay. I'm really worried that I might be pregnant. Can anyone tell me how to quickly determine if I am pregnant?

Doctor's answer:

Under normal circumstances, it takes at least ten days starting from the same room to detect pregnancy through blood human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) testing. The sperm and egg combine to form a zygote, which successfully implants in the uterus, approximately seven days later. After implantation, the zygote begins to secrete human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which causes blood hCG, progesterone, and estrogen levels to rise rapidly. At least three days are needed for blood human chorionic gonadotropin.
