Should we have a second child or not?

Patient's question:

Woman, 29, now my eldest child is already 8 years old. Currently, I want to plan for a second child. Should I really have a second child?

Doctor's answer:

With the continuous rise in prices, people's expenses are also increasing. Many families have average economic conditions and can only afford to raise one child. If they have another, the pressure becomes even greater. It's already difficult enough to raise their only child healthily, let alone having a second one. To avoid adding more pressure to the family, it's better not to have a second child. Although they are both their own children, many parents still tend to favor one over the other. If one of the children has a more sensitive personality, they may notice the parents' favoritism. This not only makes them unhappy in their daily lives but also has a negative impact on their future personality development.
