Features: Wu Mengchao Academician was born into a overseas Chinese family in 1922. During the arduous years of the Anti-Japanese War, influenced by patriotic sentiments and the desire to save the nation, he made the decision to return from Malaysia to his motherland. In 1949, immediately after graduating from Tongji University Medical College, he devoted himself to China's military medical science. In 1956, he joined the Communist Party of China, and ever since, he has remained steadfastly devoted to his country and the armed forces, sincerely contributing to the advancement of China's medical to this day. This book meticulously records and reflects on the substantial work and research achievements of Professor Wu Mengchao and the Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital under his leadership from 1991 to 2001. This selected compilation not only showcases the level of contemporary liver and biliary surgery in China but also reflects the entire process of development of this field in the country over the past half-century. The collection includes more than 580 important papers published in domestic and international journals by Professor Wu Mengchao and his colleagues and students, guided by him, over a decade from 1991 to 2001.
