Features: The oboe was created in Italy in the 16th century. It is a low-pitched woodwind instrument in the double-reed family. With its unique and beautiful tone, wide range, flexibility, and comprehensive performance capabilities, the oboe possesses rich artistic expressiveness in both solo, chamber, and orchestral music, offering listeners a delightful experience. By the late 18th century, the oboe had become an indispensable fixed member of the symphony orchestra. To promote the development of amateur oboe teaching and make it more standardized, while also assisting in their studies, we were commissioned by the Examination Committee of the Central Conservatory of Music to compile this examination syllabus, which is divided into nine levels according to proficiency. It includes various fundamental technical exercises, foreign works and Chinese compositions in different styles. To meet the needs of orchestral training, excerpts from ensemble pieces are added starting from Level 5.
