Features: "The Marvelous Stories of Ancient and Modern Times" is a selected collection of ancient Chinese vernacular novels. The selected stories in this collection vividly embody the characteristics mentioned above. This collection has been widely read and highly appreciated by readers for a long time. Re-publishing "The Marvelous Stories of Ancient and Modern Times" today allows more readers to access this ancient story collection, which is meaningful. Since this is a popular reading edition rather than research material for the history of novels, and is intended for contemporary readers to read and appreciate, some entries with relatively crude artistic expressions have not been retained. During that era, especially in "Three Words" and "Three Shoots," there are many excellent works. This edition has made some adjustments, selecting these outstanding works to replace the entries removed from the old edition.
