Features: Mason Mystery. In The Unfortunate Model, gallery owner Rijn comes to Mason in anger, asking him to sue Durant—a man who claims to be a gallery owner—for libel, because Durant told model Maxine that a painting sold by Rijn was a forgery. Mason obtains Maxine's written testimony as a witness for this matter, but later Durant is found dead in Maxine's apartment, the murder weapon being Maxine's gun. Mason launches a full-scale defense to save Maxine. The Woman in the Iron Mask. A barbed wire fence divides an entire house in half from the inside out, with one man and one woman living on either side. They are opposing parties fighting over the property rights of the house. The man hires Mason as his agent to handle the matter, but the situation evolves to the point where Mason becomes the defense attorney for both sides. This is because the ex-husband of the woman was murdered in the house, making the opposing parties co-defendants in a murder case.
