There is not much detailed information available about Shakespeare's life. We only know that he was born in Stratford in 1564 and later attended the local literary and law school. At a young age, he married Anne Hathaway, who was eight years older than him, and they had three children: Hamlet, Judith, and Susanna. After leaving Stratford, Shakespeare moved to London and worked for an acting company while beginning to write plays for the theater. In the 1590s, Shakespeare wrote a series of sonnets. After becoming a shareholder of the Globe Theatre, he returned to Stratford, where he bought a large house and lived there until his death on April 23, 1616.
His most famous works include The Taming of the Shrew, Richard II, Richard III, Romeo and Juliet, The Merchant of Venice, The Merry Wives of Windsor, Julius Caesar, Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, King Lear, Antony and Cleopatra, and The Tempest. These works have all become classics of world literature.
