Features: Since joining the World Trade Organization, China's business activities with other countries have become increasingly frequent, and the demand for foreign trade English talents has also grown. To adapt to this new situation, many higher education institutions across the country have successively established majors in foreign trade English and business English. To address the shortcomings of previous teaching materials and enable students to adapt quickly to language communication in actual work and general negotiation requirements, we referred to outstanding English textbooks in foreign trade, business, and international affairs, combined the strengths of various resources, and compiled this Practical Foreign Trade English Conversation. The book is divided into two parts and 10 units. Part 1 includes 4 units, focusing on foreign affairs reception, covering airport arrivals, schedule arrangements, banquet activities, sightseeing activities, shopping guidance, etc. Part 2 primarily introduces the main business processes in foreign economic trade, including inquiries, offers, and counteroffers, pricing and discounts, contracts and orders, payment methods and letters of credit, packaging and shipment, insurance and claims, etc. For each dialogue in the book, the editors have provided annotations for the more challenging words, phrases, and sentences, allowing students to immerse themselves in a real foreign trade environment while mastering a wealth of common foreign trade terminology. Additionally, for each unit, the book lists numerous extended vocabulary and business knowledge related to the unit content, greatly enriching students' foreign trade knowledge. Furthermore, the editors have carefully designed a large number of exercises, including written and oral ones, which are suitable for classroom teaching and help students reinforce their learning, making the book highly practical. Aimed at practicality, the book focuses on cultivating students' comprehensive foreign trade English expression skills, making it suitable for students in business English and foreign trade majors at higher education institutions, particularly those in vocational and technical colleges. It can also serve as a self-study book for other individuals in society. Units 1 to 5 of the book were written by Zhao Hong, while Units 6 to 10 were written by Wu Chao. Additionally, during the writing process, the book received support and assistance from Teacher Mao Zhongying, for which we express our gratitude.
