The "College English Synchronous Test" series for Level 1, 2, and 3 were compiled based on the vocabulary lists of the College English Teaching Syllabus 1-4 issued by the Ministry of Education and the newly promulgated "College English Teaching Requirements." The purpose is to adapt to the needs of college English teaching reform in the new century, cultivate innovative abilities in college English education, emphasize students' hands-on and practical application skills, align with international standards, and promote the reform of college English teaching by firmly implementing the teaching requirements into the graded teaching of college English. It aims to assess the comprehensive practical English proficiency of students who have completed the College English Level 1, 2, and 3 courses. Each semester corresponds to one level, with the ultimate goal of helping students successfully pass the College English Test Band 4 (CET-4).
The "Synchronous Test" series features a wide range of materials, primarily based on four college English textbooks recommended by the Ministry of Education for use across universities. The listening comprehension, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, cloze, English-Chinese translation, English writing, short answer questions, and dictation exercises are aligned with the teaching content and textbooks of the same level. The front part of the book includes introductions to the teaching syllabi required for each level, as well as strategies and tips for solving various types of questions. The appendix provides common phrases, collocations, and prepositional usage rhymes.
