Features: "Qianjia Shi" (Thousand Poems) is a shortened name for "Fenmen Zuanlei Tang Song Shiqi Xianjia Shi Xuan" (Selected Poems by Talented Individuals from the Tang and Song Dynasties, Categorized and Compiled). It was compiled by Liu Kezhuang during the Southern Song Dynasty. Since its publication, it has gone through the Southern Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, with its influence continuously expanding. "Qianjia Shi" is appreciated by both the refined and the common, suitable for all ages, and remains an excellent reading material for learning traditional Chinese culture. It is hoped that readers can extract the essence and discard the dross while reading and appreciating it, applying the old to the new.
The works collected in "Qianjia Shi" are all five- or seven-character quatrains and regulated poems, with the majority being famous pieces by Tang and Song poets. These poems cover a wide range of themes, are short in length, easy to understand, and simple to memorize. In terms of arrangement, they also have distinctive features, which is why they have been loved by people for a long time and have remained popular to this day, still retaining their vitality. However, the annotations in some editions are often shallow and occasionally contain errors, leading to many reprinted versions. In this edition, revisions were made based on common versions, with annotations striving for simplicity, focusing on resolving difficult terms. Sometimes, explanations, brief evaluations, or introductions to the writing background are provided, as well as analyses of ideological connotations or artistic features. Annotations are lengthy when there is much to say and brief when there is little.
