Old photographs are moments when history freezes, invitations left by time, inviting us to meet the vanished yesterday. They are the re-emergence of smoke-like past events, the of faint dreams, the accurate records of everything that once happened, and the precise answers to historical mysteries. We have found many old scenes of Chongqing to look back at this city's distant past, to cross the long river of history, break through the limitations of time and space, and appreciate its old-time charm, to witness its former appearance once again. It is a visual local history, presenting to people a historical and folk art scroll of old Chongqing.
