Features: Due to space limitations, this book primarily focuses on the early stage of the Italian campaign, from the Battle of Sicily to the Allied liberation of Rome. This is also the most vivid and essential chapter of the entire Italian theater. The book is divided into seven parts: "The Italian Front in World War II: A Strategic Review," "Breaking Through Italy's Door: The Landing in Sicily," "Dramatic Changes: The Beginning and End of Italy's Surrender," "The Unfulfilled Avalanche: The Southern Italy Landing," "The Rough Journey to Rome: The Anzio-Cassino Campaign," "The Eye of the Cobra: The Brazilian Expeditionary Force in the Apennines," and "The Brazilian Expeditionary Force and Key Figures." Among these, the four main parts—Sicily, Italy's Surrender, the Southern Landing, and the Anzio-Cassino Campaign—form the backbone, following a chronological axis, with extensive and comprehensive materials to strive for a complete and accurate introduction of the development and major battles of the Italian campaign. The sections on the Brazilian Expeditionary Force and key figures provide lesser-known perspectives and deeper background information, making the book more vivid. The article "The Italian Front in World War II: A Strategic Review" offers unique insights into the strategic thinking and military tactics of the entire Italian theater. The authors of this book are well-researched experts in the history of World War II. Based on extensive domestic and international materials and historical records, they meticulously crafted this labor of love after careful research.
