Chinese Economic Geography (Fifth Edition)

Author: Hu Xin
Publisher:
Publish Date: 2005-04-01
Features: The revision of China's Economic Geography has been continuously ongoing. Since the fourth edition was published in 2001, there have been many new changes in the macroeconomic layout, urban development, and urban processes, as well as in major infrastructure construction and layout, that need to be reflected in a timely manner. Additionally, systematic data also needs updating. For this reason, the fifth edition of this book has undergone significant revisions and additions in most chapters. Compared to the fourth edition, the fifth edition also has one more difference: it analyzes some of the mistakes in China's economic development and layout in the past, as well as numerous issues in urban development and urbanization processes, using examples. The author works for the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China, and naturally pays more attention to urban development, urbanization processes, and changes in urban layout. This is fully reflected in Chapters 7 and 10 to 16 of the book, which cover urban economy and urban layout.
