The participating experts highly praised this new translation. Hegel's representative work, "The Complete System of Philosophy · Part · Logic," was once colloquially referred to as "Small Logic" by the philosophical community. The retranslation and publication of this classic are of great significance. Hegel's idealist dialectical thought is primarily embodied in the book "Small Logic." The systematic introduction of Hegel's "Small Logic" in China began with the late philosopher He Lin, whose translation was first published by the Commercial Press in October 1950. A revised second edition was published in the 1980s. To date, He's translation has been printed more than ten times, with circulation reaching hundreds of thousands of copies. It has long been influential, with a wide reach. The new translation launched by the People's Publishing House this time was completed by Professor Liang Zhixue, an expert in Hegel's philosophy and a seasoned translator, over more than twenty years of direct translation from the Glockner edition. It is the first complete translation in China that strictly follows the original German version, including revisions and retranslations of some key concepts and terminology. To help readers better understand Hegel's thought, Professor Liang Zhixue has also compiled rich translator's notes based on his lifelong research. Renowned Hegel philosopher Professor Zhang Shiyi has specially written a preface for the Chinese edition of this book.
