Lin Songying was born in Shanghai in March 1930. A renowned fairy tale writer and a member of the Shanghai Writers' Association. At the age of 16, she became disabled due to illness. Over the past half-century, she has dedicated herself to children's literature, writing over 2 million words. She has published dozens of children's books, including A Cannon on the Castle, Lin Songying's Science Fiction Fairy Tales, and others. Foreign Languages Press and Hai Dolphin Press have translated and published many of her works, such as Uncle Rooster, The Zoo, The Green Kingdom's King, and others, into English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Portuguese, and Arabic, receiving widespread acclaim. This book collects her works such as Bujixiong's Magic Box, The Beautiful Thousand Paper Cranes, and The Path Full of Flowers.
