The book is divided into three parts: the upper part includes four poetic discourses with slightly earlier dates and shorter lengths, the middle part includes two historical discourses with later dates and longer lengths, and the lower part arranges the remaining chapters in chronological order of the author's era. After each selected treatise, the book generally appends some introductory texts about the author.
