Features: "Animals (1)" mainly introduces the following content: The outstanding Chinese painter and calligrapher Ba Da Shan Ren (1626-1705), who lived in Nanchang, was a descendant of Zhu Quan, the son of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang of the Ming Dynasty. His other names and titles include Zhu Da, Chuan Qi, Fa Huo, Ren An, Ge Shan, Xue Ge, and Jian, among others. After the fall of the Ming Dynasty, to avoid persecution, he changed his name and identity, became a monk, and simultaneously devoted himself to studying the painting techniques of flowers, birds, landscapes, and calligraphy from his predecessors, creating a unique style. He expressed his disdain for the world through his art, earning admiration from countless scholars and artists throughout the generations. Ba Da Shan Ren excelled in flower-and-bird painting, while also being skilled in landscape painting and calligraphy. His artistic style and calligraphic works have nurtured generations of renowned painters and calligraphers, such as the "Eight of Yangzhou," Ren Yi, Wu Changshuo, Qi Baishi, Pan Tianshou, Li Kuchan, and Ding Yanrong. His influence has impacted and shaped the Chinese art scene for over 300 years. In light of this, Jiangxi Fine Arts Publishing House, after eight years of effort, collected over 1,000 works by Ba Da Shan Ren from major museums, art galleries, and collectors both domestically and internationally. From these, more than 940 pieces were selected and edited into a five-volume set titled "The Complete Works of Ba Da Shan Ren." This book, published in 2000, received widespread praise from readers and experts both at home and abroad, and in 2001, it won the Fifth National Book Award and the First Prize for Art Books in China. To meet the needs of readers at different levels, we have selected some works from "The Complete Works of Ba Da Shan Ren," enlarged and finely printed the classic details, and presented them to the readers.
