Features: English and Chinese both have rich vocabularies, but when it comes to a specific word, English may have many synonyms, while the corresponding Chinese word may not have that many synonyms. Therefore, the translator found it very difficult to find a Chinese word that not only has the same meaning but also the same stylistic color when translating this dictionary. As a result, sometimes the translator can only try to provide words with similar meanings or explanations. Readers can learn from this the differences between English and Chinese, and grasp some translation methods and skills. This book includes 940 sets of synonyms, with five to six closely related words or phrases in each set. Each set has a key term, which is arranged in alphabetical order, indicating the part of speech and noting information on style, pragmatics, such as colloquial language and formal language. The words or phrases in the synonym sets are arranged based on the closeness of their meaning to the key term, with the most similar meanings placed first and the least similar meanings placed last. The definitions are accurate, concise, and clear. There are abundant example sentences to illustrate the usage of synonyms. The layout is eye-catching and easy to use.
