Many stories in Grimms' Fairy Tales are also widely circulated in other European countries. For example, as early as 1697, France published the famous writer Charles Perrault's Cendrillon, ou la petite pantoufle de verre, which, though thin in volume, already included stories such as Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty in the Forest, Bluebeard, and Puss in Boots. They are only slightly different from the content collected and organized by the Brothers Grimm later. Strictly speaking, whether in terms of subject matter sources or artistic characteristics, Grimms' Fairy Tales is a typical European folk fairy tale.
