Features: Every year, several GCT Chinese exam preparation books appear in the market. Why do we still need to compile another book with a similar title? As a teaching assistant for the GCT Chinese exam, based on the practical experience accumulated from two years of pre-exam tutoring and feedback from a large number of candidates, we deeply feel that the existing books on the market have some shortcomings. The major ones are: 1. The books only contain exercises, lacking concise introductions to the knowledge and principles related to the exam content, making it difficult for candidates to review and prepare. 2. There is a lack of introduction to the characteristics and patterns of the GCT-ME Chinese exam, as well as explanations of problem-solving methods and techniques, making it hard for first-time candidates, especially self-study candidates, to grasp the exam's approach. 3. Some books do not provide answers or explanations for all the questions, leaving candidates unable to understand not only whether their answers are correct but also why. These shortcomings not only inconvenience teachers during tutoring but also confuse candidates during their preparation. Thus, we were inspired to compile another teaching guide to address these issues. The basic idea and approach for writing this guide are as follows: Focusing closely on the GCT Chinese exam, using representative questions to explain the exam's characteristics and patterns, related knowledge and principles, problem-solving methods and techniques, so that candidates can understand the exam's features, grasp the relevant knowledge, master the problem-solving methods, learn to answer various common exam questions, and apply what they have learned to other questions with ease, thus approaching the exam with confidence. For the comprehensive knowledge section, with its wide range of disciplines and extensive exam points, organizing the knowledge system and key points is a pressing need for candidates. To meet this demand, we have made preliminary efforts to outline the knowledge systems and key points of disciplines such as history, geography, biology, military science, and law, providing them to candidates. However, due to their length, it is difficult to include all of them in this book. Therefore, the main parts are available online for candidates to review, while only the comprehensive knowledge exercises are retained in this book. We hope that our good intentions will be of some help to candidates in their preparation. We sincerely wish all candidates success in their exams.
